Dowding & Mills branches out with two new appointments

Dowding & Mills’ Electronics & Calibration division has made two new strategic appointments that will put them on the fast track for business growth. Bob Scott and Mitch Keene have both returned to the UK to offer their expertise to the company.

Bob Scott has been appointed as product manager for Dowding & Mills Electronics & Calibration Division. He brings with him a wealth of experience in electronics and repairs.

Following the acquisition of Scotronics, Scott worked for Dowding & Mills for two years as the global product manager for servo motor systems. Now back from an 18 month stay in Belgium, he has returned to Dowding & Mills.

Scott will be working closely with Ian Middleton, managing director of Dowding & Mills Electronics & Calibration, to develop business within the branches and provide a higher level of service for customers. He will also be working with Mike Moore, national sales director for Electronics & Calibration, on strategic planning and increasing penetration in key markets.

Scott said: “I am pleased to be back at Dowding and Mills and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I will be working towards increasing profitability, improving efficiency, creating new business opportunities and developing new repair techniques.

“Much of Dowding & Mills’ success is down to its people and I hope to be able to play a key roll in assisting our employees in their development.”

Mitch Keene has been appointed as general manager for Dowding & Mills Nottingham and Birmingham. He will be responsible for business development, strategy and ongoing customer service developments within the two branches. Keene joins Dowding & Mills from Thermo Electron, based in Texas, USA, where he held the position of vice president for operations for a number of years.

Keene said: “I am looking forward to working back in UK industry. The branches are quite different, with Nottingham offering traditional Dowding & Mills calibration services and Birmingham focusing on electronics.

“There are lots of opportunities for growth in electronics & calibration and it’s a very exciting time to be joining Dowding & Mills. Our national branch network means that we can draw on a wealth of expertise while retaining the entrepreneurial and customer focused spirit within the individual branches.”

Ian Middleton said: “Our focus on customer service and working closely with customers continues apace and these two appointments are a key part of the next stage of our development.
