DOWDING & MILLS' ONSITE CALIBRATION SUCCESS SECURES A NEW CONTRACT AT CARNAUDMETALBOX

CarnaudMetalbox, a division of Crown Cork & Seal, the leading supplier of packaging products to consumer markets, has renewed its calibration contract with Dowding & Mills, the UK's largest independent engineering and electronics services organisation, for a second successive year.

For the last 12 months Dowding & Mills has provided a 'turnkey' onsite calibration service. Dowding & Mills has carried out a complee overhaul of CanaudMetalbox' calibration procedures, implemented new work instructions and set-up an innovative, end-to-end inventory management system.

"Dowding & Mills has conquered a very steep learning curve in a short amount of time," says David Winstanley, quality manager, CarnaudMetalbox. "We have seen numerous benefits with the onsite service and we now have a firm foundation that we can build on to develop cost efficiencies across the calibration project. Dowding & Mills' reporting facilities also give us the visability of spend to ensure that resources are chanelled into the correct area."
