NEW GENERAL MANAGER FOR DOWDING & MILLS IN THE NORTH EAST

Dowding & Mills has appointed a new general manager responsible for its York, Scarborough and Mechanical Handling branches. Lee Allen, who joined the company as an apprentice fitter in 1975, was previously employed as branch manager at Sheffield.

Derrick Arden, managing director of Dowding & Mills' branch network, commented: "Lee Allen's appointment will put us in a very strong position in the area. He knows the business and markets very well, and will play a vital role in driving it forward and ensuring that our customers experience the highest levels of service. We hope that customers will see a new focus and drive and find it easier and more cost-effective to do business with us."

Lee Allen is keen to see greater integration both between the three branches under his management and with the rest of the Group: "We have some highly skilled engineers working for us, and a new state-of-the-art facility in York. The challenge is for all three branches, from the engineers to the management teams, to pull together and offer the best possible service."
