DOWDING & MILLS LAUNCHES INTERNATIONAL SERVICES DESK

Dowding & Mills has launched an International Services Enquiry Desk to provide a single point of contact for international agents and customers. It will make it easier to access the broad range of specialist services available from the companies 54 locations throughout the world.

This latest addition, which is part of an ongoing programme of restructuring and reorganisation, will make it easier for customers to utilise the benefits of working with a large, multifaceted organisation, as Graham Hartley, director International Operations, explains: "The main objective of the desk is to ensure the most appropriate and speedy response to enquiries from the agents and clients world-wide and provide them with easy access to an array of services. These include consultancy, design, repair and remanufacturing as well as project management of multi-disciplined refurbishment projects for a range of industries including power generation, utilities, mining and petro-chemicals.

"The International Services Desk will help us build closer relationships with our international agents and customers and in turn generate more business opportunities."

The International Services Desk will become an integral part of Dowding & Mills' service for overseas agents. It has already proved invaluable in Chile where Dowding & Mills is currently supplying coils and supervising the re-wind of a 9,500 hp mine mill motor, and in Indonesia where the supervision of the repair of a hydro-generator is underway.

Qualified engineers, supported by project managers and a commercial manager will man the desk. They all have a broad knowledge of the engineering industry and the facilities available from the Group's world-wide network. The whole operation will be managed by Rod Williams, who has extensive experience in project management.
