Dowding & Mills Systems, has launched an Industrial Robot Refurbishment Service which is available to customers throughout the UK.

Dowding & Mills UK field sales manager, Andy Duke, explained: "This is a relatively new venture for us but it’s a natural addition to our existing refurbishment offering. We provide a high quality service, which can be tailored to suit the needs of each customer, offering the most cost-effective solution to the upkeep of production lines.”

The Test and Inspection service involves a visit from one of the site engineers who will carry out a detailed inspection of the robot and produce a report on its condition and any work required to bring it up to manufacturers specifications.

As part of the Comprehensive Overhaul service robots are dismantled into major components and any worn or damaged parts are replaced. Key components such as motors, gearboxes, cable looms, and servo drives are tested and repaired as necessary. Air filters are replaced as a matter of course and control panels are stripped cleaned and fully repainted. The robots are fully reassembled and tested by technicians before being returned to the client for testing.

In addition the Comprehensive Overhaul service also includes the replacement of all damaged and worn parts, under the Standard Overhaul service components deemed to be excessively worn or damaged are quoted for separately
